i just got new custom cat back

sorry but right now i have no pics...i went with a n1 style muffler with a silencer, i had them take out the resonator and my car is still sooooo quiet...it's kinda nice though, anyways is all of that going to change when i put on my headers and hi flow cat?

not on it at the moment, i got the y pipe that came with the headers and it's not on the car yet...hopefully later this week,(whenever my friend lets me use a bay at his dad's shop) but i thought i get more sound out of it still since it's 2 1/2 pipe... it puzzled me!

Yeah, still runs like a champ. Gets good gas mileage and so forth. I'm in the market currently for an '02-03.

About your exhaust,. it will get very noticeably louder with the y/headers combo. It may even become annoying, just opt for a resonator, often called a glass pack at most muffler shops 40 dollars installed. I have a custom cat-back, just the normal "hi flow turbo" muffler they put on older cars, no cat, and a y-pipe with a total of 36" of glass packs, one 8" and the other 28", because before I got those on, it sounded like complete a$$. Just a word of advice.

N1 style? with a silencer? ...not my taste for a Max,but whatever you like.

I had a custom 2.5" cat-back with magnaflow 14829 with WSP y-pipe and test pipe and it sounded like butt, even with the resonator. When I went turbo,I put on a custom 3" with no cat and magnaflow muffler and its sounds a lot more solid.dont know how it changed.

Sounds a little raspy from 2k to 2400 rpms. After that all I hear is air swooshing by and the engine, no exhaust. I have the budget y, stock cat, 2.5" custom b and muffler from a '03 Max. No intake and no resonator. I had a cone intake and didn't like it - too noisy.

unless you plan on going turbo, you shouldn't need a 3" pipe. You'll probably lose power if you opt for that. 2.5' pipe is sufficient for n/a applications.
