Hey guys, i just bought a 98 Maxima GLE...I got an 8 month warranty on engine & transmission. It runs perfect, but two things bother me. The AIR BAG light is flashing and Service Engine Soon light is on. Is that the same as the check engine light? Is there any way i can reset these?

If it means anything the air bag light flashes 2 long pulses, then one short.

Congrats on the purchase. Is it an SE or a GLE? Your post says GLE, but your info says SE. I expect you'll be told this many times (don't feel bad we were all newbs once), but be sure to read the faqs.

I don't know anything about the airbag light.

The service engine soon light is the same as the CEL. You really should check it before you reset it. Here's instructions to both http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/ecu.html. If you're lazy, your local autozone should do it for free.

 

it's a GLE, every option included, except CD Changer...maybe it's hidden and i haven't found it lol....but i'm worried about these lights....i'm definitely gonna check my ecu tomorrow, but how the hell do i reset the airbag light?

 

Their are instructions for the airbag light in the faqs, but I think they're slightly wrong. You should start a thread with airbag light in the title and hopefully somebody that knows what they are doing will pop in
