When installing the filter do I just have to unlatch those 4 silver clips and lift it up or do I have to take something else off? I know this is a dumb question and should be a very simple procedure, but it is my first time doing this. Does anyone have the step by step instructions with pics or is there a place that has it on the How 2's. I know I can do it I just want to make sure I can do it right. Thanks

what kind

of filter are you installing. is it a cone filter. if it is you will have to remove your stock air box, if it is a regular box like air filter just unclip the four clips and drop it in.

Re: what kind

It is just the regular flat filter. Do I need to put those little foam gaskets in that were in the K&N filter box or do I just take the old filter out and just drop the K&N filter in? Thanks again

Hi, all you do is just unclip the four silver clips and then seperate the top half of the air box from the bottom. It maybe a bit hard.. it may sorta seem like it is stuck, but just move it arond a bit (the top half) then you will get it loose. After that, just place the K&N drop in, into the box, then close it up.....

I didn't notice any foam pieces.....

..but I think I have a slightly different K&N in. (This is the stock filter box). The number is something dash 2, right. I used the one without the dash - 2 in the part number. It fits very snug.

Yes the four silver clamps are all you need to unclip, then lift the top half of the box and swap the filters. If the K&N isn't sitting right the box won't close correctly.

Hope I didn't confse ya with that top part.

I unlatched the 4 clips and unbolted the 4 screws that holds the upper part of the box to the TB. I didnt use the gaskets. I think they are for the I30. But now I have a cone filter.
