i have an NOS kit . zex sux, doesn't hit as hard and not flexible. venom is just real pricey. i don't know of anyone using the venom kit though.
Re: Re: Which NOS kit?
Cool.....was leaning that way. Is there a kit to order or do you just build it from what ever parts you need? I assume you can get a bigger shot too eh? Zex and venom are around 75.....know of anyone running more?
wonder if it would smoke my 74k motor

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Which NOS kit?
Guages..
if you get a 40 to 60 shot..
you don't need a EGT gauge..
you need a A/F Gauge and Fuel Pressure Gauge..
if you run the 40 shot you can get away with just the A/F Gauge..
A/F Gauge - $25 - $40
Fuel Pressure Gauge - $209 (must get electrical gauge due to Fuel Injected Engine because the Mechanical gauge requires you running a fuel line into the car, unless you do like the mustangs do and mount them on the hood, and running the fuel line in the car is very dangerous)
EGT Gauge - $250 - $300 (usually if you are running higher than 60 shot)

Re: Re: Which NOS kit?
You really don't think the Zex kit hits as hard? Why is that? I'm still thinking of getting nitrous. But since I can't get Don's VB. I may just get suspension first. I dono.. But please do explain why the Zex kit doesn't hit as hard. The NOS kit seems harder to install. But is cheaper. I could use that money to get accessories.

it uses an electronic throttle position sensor as opposed to an actual switch. you have to be literally cramming your foot down on the pedal to get a voltage high enough to switch on the nitrous. and sometimes it just doesn't hit for some reason. from the combination of pills they tell you to use for 55, 65, or 75 hp, it seems like they purposely make you run really really rich - just as a precaution. the A/F gauge is always at the last green led. lean = mean, rich = safe, but no hit hard.
How much more work is involed in the NOS install rather than the ZEX install? How do you tune the rich/lean on the NOS kit. Seems to me, if someone were to run the ZEX kit. They wouldn't need the A/F gauge as much. Or maybe even the EGT. But at the cost of power I guess. I want a kit that is safe, easy to install. I don't need monster power. Like I said before.. 50shot is enough for me. =)

Damn, maybe I'll just get a NOS kit then. Since its cheaper and probably more configureable. =)
Thanks

NOS has really good instructions though = the installation manual is like 30 pages with lots of pictures and diagrams. the ZEX instructions are on like 1 page - lol.
