I got a 96 GXE 5 speed with the usual bolt ons, my buddy has a 95 240SX 5 speed, he imported a silva turbo motor for it. The motor has like 120,000 kilometers on it, but a shop rebuilt the turbo and some other shiit for him. Anybody familiar with the 240SX's, give me a hola'

Personally, I feel he'll blow you away. The 240SX has 150hp stock and I remember seeing one in a magazine with a turbo that produced 250hp. It depends on the turbo and how much more power he's getting from it. It he really does get around 250 then I think he'll win. Maybe not as much hp as I think since it sounds pretty used. Also note that the 240sx is rear wheel drive, meaning he should be able to launch better than our front wheel drive maximas.

I don't know what you guys are talking about with respect to launching a FWD car. I can "lauch" my Max in first gear and keep up with my friends '98 Z28 all the way through first gear (when we hit second...he kicks my butt). Now that seems to me like a pretty good launch.

I'm not trying to say FWD cars can launch or that you have a problem launching so don't get all offensive. All I'm saying is that logically, a RWD car launches better. Why? Because when a car accelerates, the weight of a car is shifted toward the rear of the car. For a FWD car, this lost of weight in the front could cause a lost of traction also for the front wheels that drive the car. For RWD cars though, the shifted weight to the rear only reinforces the traction by putting more pressure on the rear wheels that drive the vehicle and causing it to connect to the ground harder. Of course there are 9second civics out there that are FWD cars but I'm just presenting the facts. Peace.

yep, just think of it as Push And Pull, whats easier? Push = RWD Pull = FWD

I saw the Nissan Sylvia just last night at the track. If he has that engine, stay away from him! He was running consistant low 13's at around 105 mph.

SR20DET

the SR20DET from the japanese silvia makes 200HP stock.. plus whatever mods he has. the KA24DE that comes in the 240 only has 150hp... so i say race him... but dont expect to win. should be fun anyhow.
