2 questions for the 5spd owners

ok guys, fast and simple.....when taking off on 1st gear, (normal driving that is) right before a speed bump, i tend to just press on my clutch and leaving it still in first gear, and when clutch is down, my rpm stays at like 1.5k for like over 5-7 seconds or even more longer. is that normal?

And other question....when on the freeway going about 80mph in 5th gear. when i tap on the gas pedal and hold it there, car seems bog a little before staying smooth. is that normal?

thanx guys.

The car staying at 1500 RPM is the Idle air control valve opening up to keep the car from stalling, this is no biggie. the boggin, I don't know. You got a clean air filter?

The second part isnt normal. Mine does that also in more then just 5th. My VR used to do that and it was something with the clutch and tranny. If it boggs and the prms pop up then you need a clutch. If the rpms dont go up then it is something with the tranny... not sure exactly what though.

i dont have either... the idling - maybe you dont warm car before starting to drive, it might do that... for the other thing - dont have it in 5th, but sometimes it happens in 2nd when on high rpm (2.5+)

the high idle for a couple seconds is usually when the air conditioning is on.

actually it happens when ac is off also, and yes, i do warm up my car before driving.
weird thing is, clutch seems ok, and i just rebuilt my tranny half year ago at a place.
i dont think it would be the clutch, because it grabs fine. i wonder what it is. hopefully not that bad.
