The stock bushings have a metal sleeve that often fuses to the control arm articulations. It may be necessary to carefully apply a cutting wheel to the metal sleeves and then pry them off. The front bushings especially may come off and leave the metal sleeve which may look like it is part of the control arm--you need to get that off.

My existing large ES bushing started wiggling it's way out after 2 years. I plan to take a look at what happened in a day or two after I fix this susp swap headache.

It may have a little nubbins on the end but is held in because frontal movement is not possible because of the front bolt.

To get the big one off the end, I hooked the control arm over the work bench and knocked the bushing off the end with a hammer.

If it comes down to it, you can cut it off with a hacksaw or something.
