Brake pads and Heartbeat

Hey, i believe the brake pads and rotors are worn (rotors are warped, when vraking from high speed the brakes shake worse than harlem)

How much would it generally cost me to replace my rotors and pads?

And also, when my car idles, it sometimes shakes in a bump-bump-bump pattern, as if it has a heartbeat or something. Could this be a cylinder misfire or one of the banks running lean/rich? I haven't gotten any CEL's about that yet

Thanks.

replacing your rotors at a mechanic will cost you several hundred dollars (they will want to charge you around 100 per rotor let alone labor).

you can do this yourself for around 300 all new pads and rotors the whole way around if you do it yourself.

i went with brembo oem from tirerack for 50 a piece and then rabestos quiet stops for around 70 for all four corners.

if you have very basic tools and a little determination it can be done very easily.

there are also many good write ups available too search for motervate.com or something to that nature.

good luck
