is it any good to check for codes?

one day it gave me a knock sensor, the next day KS and "improper 1st gear shift", the next day just a KS again, after a week KS and O2, today 0505 which is nothing... i havn't fixed anyhting... why is it showing different codes all the time?

It might.....mine did that, but I just cleared them w/ the obd-II....yours is obd-I though.

what is OBD II or I? why would i clear it?
