Water Pump

When should I change the water pump on my 97 Maxima?

When it stoppes "pumping" or leaks so bad that you need to put fluid in every few hours

I have never heard of a maxima water pump breaking, just leaking at the seals. I wouldn't give it a second thought unless your dripping coolant.
