JWT Cams Questions
JWT Cams Questions
Sup, I was looking into getting JWT Cams. I'm NA, with mevi, intake, ypipe, and muffler. How much would the cams, power, benefit me? I've seen a video of Ironlung with the cams and it sounded awsome, this is one reason I am looking to invest in them too. Also how is the instal? I know you have to take off the intake manifolds and all the other stuff of top, but do you have to take off the timing(spl?) chain cover? How long should the install take?, I would plan on doing it myself. Please reply, thanks.

Well i dont know TOO much about them, but i was just reading about a guy who was selling his because the lack in the low-end power department. I too saw/heard that video of Ironlung which was orgasmic sounding. But i dont know about the power gains the guy who was selling them was saying how the lowend loss was what made him sell them and if your an auto then you'l feel it even more. So im sure theres more info out there just tellin you what i know/read. You can check the forsale forum and see if you see the thread.

If you already have an MEVI, then you know a loss in low end power affected your power band. Us MEVI guys need to stay above 5K rpms if we want to stay in our power band. This will be even more true with the cams. A 5spd max with an MEVI, extended red line, and cams has some sick top end. As long as you understand how it will effect your power band then go for it. No more cruising along at 4K rpms and punching it to beat your competition. You will have to down shift.
A key element to the cams being worth while is the extended redline. I would imagine that without it you will actually be slower in the 1/4 mile. Oh, and no 2K rpms launches either. To really get the benefits you will want to get at least some drag radials and dump it form at least 4.5K.
