Too much play in steering-bad suspension parts?

I realize that steering on a Maxima is somewhat loose.. I mean its a 4 door sedan with power steering. However, my steering is very loose, and I do not see any correlation with speed. Although its loose at 80mph, it feels loose at normal driving. I have a 95 with 110k miles. I am wondering what all could possibly cause this. I have new front axles and brakes. I am not totally sure what all I should check on, but heres my guess:

Wheel Bearing
Shocks/Struts
Coil springs

Nissan corrected the loose steering in the 99 model. There's really nothing you can do, it's built that way. The power steering is over boosted as most on here will agree.

I disagree. I have a '96 Maxima and the steering is ok. In other vehicles, I have seen that mistreating them with very rough, broken roads loosens the suspension.

In a '87 Cherokee I used to own, that was exactly what happened. I did not pay much attention to it, thinking looseness in the steering was normal for a truck. Thank god my girlfriend decided to get somebody to look at it: I was about to loose all steering control since a nut was so loose it was about to fall.

So... drive safe dude. If I were you, I wouldn't drive around too much with a loose suspension of any kind.
