custom midpipe mod
#2
I've done it with a piece cut from a cheap arase Autozone ricer CAI, but the other which you're talking about requires a rubber tube from Home Depot to match the intake tract from the maf to the accordian type of deal, a barbed connector for the hoses, just take a look under your hood, and you'll see the differnt sizes and a couple of hose clamps. That should do it.
I finally just went w/ Frankencar. . .

The easy part is making the midpipe...it is a little harder making the mass air flow sensor adapter..unless you have the tools. As for me, it was no problem whatsoever.
For the midpipe, I used a piece of 3" tubing I found in our shop. It took a couple test fits to get the length the way I wanted it, but you can mess around with that. I used a 3" coupler I bought at Lowes to connect the tubing to the maf sensor. To connect the midpipe to the throttle body, you just slide it up into the tube that is already on the throttle body. I cut my midpipe at an angle so that it fit almost flush with the throttle body once it was in the tube. As for the connections off of the midpipe...you'll need I think an 1/8 inch "barb-outlet" or whatever...just big enough so that the vacuum line will slide on. These sizes aren't for sure, because it's been a while since I made mine. I drilled holes in my midpipe for the vacuum connections. I then tapped these holes and screwed the "barbs" in. Once the barbs were screwed in, I then welded around them, for a nice leak-free fit.
Actually, I'm not sure where I'm even going with this...I doubt it's helping at all, so I'll just stop now.

I had it, but I sold it.....all it's gona do is make it louder. I hope you know that.
I custom made the whole thing. I used to work at a pipe bending shop, so I grabbed some pipe, and welded 2 "legs" for the 2 rear hoses that connect to it. I'll try to find pics.

I recommend staying away from it if you want power, but going with it if all you want is sound.
