Expensive Tails?

How much would you pay for a full set (outers and inners) of tail lights that someone cleared-out the orange part themselves. Do you think $100 is too much for all four? Let me know, I'm unsure-thanks

Why do you need the inners? Your inners should be clear already. I wouldnt pay over $60 for a set of Red/Clears that someone made themselves, assuming there are no cracks or blemishes.

you can clear the inner lights only so they look like they will match, yea, 100 dollar is pretty expensive, you can do it yourself for cheaper if u have the right tools, just takes some time

sunysb83 makes a point - if you're gonna DIY, choose your products wisely. I've seen some butchered red/clear DIYs where the plastic's pattern on the OEM inner is very different from the outer, which looks very ghetto. If you want a different style than OEM, swap them both so they match.

sbender.......MY opinion is...anyone who spends money on "aftermarket" tail lights that ARE NOT OEM.....they have severe problems. DIY and spend $12 on materials to modify your stock tails.

here's another opinion http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW, this guy for the last week has been selling them for $90 plus $25 for shipping.

All this discussion about red/clears, and I must have to point out:

I have these tail lights on my car. I paid $100 for a used set of these off someone here on maxima.org a while ago.

These tail lights look ALOT better than mine IMO, and cost about the same.

But, do yours match up better with the inner lights? Also, I'm curious if yours leak at all. I just purchase them at a higher price from topbmw on ebay(a real joke of a seller in fact - NOT recommended), and am still waiting for the product after nearly 2 weeks. You're right, the ones you posted from ebay do look nice, so it's a little tempting to put the ones i'm receiving back on eBay. If I have to break out the clear silicone as I did for the makoautotrends diamond clear cuts, I'll sell my new red/clears for sure. There's no reason stuff this pricey should have gaps and holes.

badmaxx - the lights on the bottom (symmic.com pic) match the inners. The ones on top have a different pattern and are more clear (without that hint of white).

I bought mine on eBay from TOPBMW and they are CustomMaxima lights, plain and simple. I even got mine in a CutomMaxima box with his address sticker slapped on top of theirs. They look dead-on the ones in the symmic.com pic. And by the way, I had ZERO problems with him - I actually recommend him!
