Was 300 just for 1 injector? I think that's too much,

cost is about ~115 for 370CC injectors which are stock on the 300TT, so I would guess a stock max injector which is less than 370 would also cost less or at least the same price, and 185 for labor is way too much.

Hold on a minute. Let's find out which injector was replaced. The injectors on the front bank are relatively easy to see and reach. If it was one of those, $185 seems too high. On the other hand, if it was on the rear bank maybe $185 is in the ball park.

This post is based on information in the Haynes Nissan Maxima '93-'99 repair manual (#72021). Please get a copy of this manual for yourself. You may buy it at any large bookstore (Barnes & Noble, BookStar, Borders, etc.), at an auto parts store (Advance Auto, AutoZone, Pep Boys, etc.), or from a Web vendor such as Amazon.com. You may find it on the shelf at your local public library. Even if you prefer to pay a shop to service your car, this book will help you to be a knowledgeable consumer.

On your engine, cylinder 4 is the middle cylinder of the front bank (page 2B-1). The #4 fuel injector is easy to see and reach. Figure 15.4 on page 4-11 shows a technician's hand touching this injector. The following paragraph is quoted from page 4-11.

"On 1995 and later models, the fuel injectors on the front bank can be serviced without removing the upper intake manifold. However, servicing the fuel injectors on the rear bank requires removal of the upper intake manifold. It is not necessary to remove the fuel rail if you're only servicing a fuel injector. Individual fuel injectors can be removed without detaching the fuel rail."

In other words, this is an easy job. There is nothing in the way. The only tool required is a Phillips head screwdriver. It is faster and easier than replacing a spark plug on the same cylinder. In my opinion the labor charge for this job should be less than $185... FAR LESS.
