POLL: How long did your original auto tranny last?

Just curious how long ur factory tranny lasted and how often u changed the fluid. If yours didn't break then don't vote.

I picked 180,001-200,000 for my dad's 95. It still works fine, but I wouldn't go as far as "still going strong". Maybe just "still going".

My GLE had 155K HARD miles on it when it got totaled. I beat the hell out of that car and it never broke. The transmission was probably still good for a long time, until its guts were ripped out when I got hit head-on.

Look for the vin number under your car on your transmission. There should be some sort of labeling on the transmission.

148,6xx still running strong...i change my transmission fluid about every other oil transmission just to be safe.

Ok, I just looked and mine is the original transmission. The car has over 200,000 miles on it. So, is this going to mean that I am going to need a new one soon, probably??
When I just went outside and turned the car on it was shaking and it has never done that before!

If your car is in Park, the transmission has nothing to do with the rough idle.

Transmission blew up (pieces fell onto the street) at 101K miles. This was before I owned the car and my mom had it and didn't abuse it.

No, that was in a different paragraph. I was just wondering since I have over 200k miles-should I expect that I will have to get a new transmission soon?

The poll gets really inaccurate and becomes misleading if you vote for a milage less than 200,000 and you're "still goin' strong." Sometime this winter I'll vote for the "200,000 and still going strong" category, I'm at 193,000 right now. At some point I'd like to get a manual trans though...

When I bought My car at 44kmiles 2 years ago, it was so dope, but then the tranny started slipping like 2 months before I came to china, that is when I got real serious about modding and stuff, well my cars slipping tranny caused me to run a best of 15.8 with a cai, y-pipe, custom b pipe, full 2.5" exhaust, high flow cat, and like all this dope spark plug calculation gapage i did with my freind and his special gizmo thingy, each cylnder has a specially gaped plug for like best performance(best fuel sparkage ratio, or w/e the hell its called) and like it sux ***, i was so pissed off, one of my other maxima buddys, (forgot his forum name) was like dood what the hell is wrong with your car, o by the way each time I went to the trax my car was completley stripped

Obviously you haven't researched anything before you vote..Lets get an intelligent individual in office, and someone who can make a speech without stuttering every 5 secs and having no idea what he is saying...

Kerry voted Iraq as a threat and said we should go to war but not right away. Bush realized he ****ed up and couldn't catch Bin Ladin so he just choose to send troops to iraq and now, everyday, we are losing valuable lives cause Bush is a stubborn ***.

It will be like another s. korea/ n. korea situation where we won't be able to leave because there is always a threat.

The reason Kerry voted against it AFTERWARDS is cause BUSH HANDLED IT HORRIBLY WRONG.....Also Cali is a Demo state so bush has no chance of winning Cali...

Hey guys,

Last time I checked, Maxima.org was an automotive forum, not a political forum. If you want to discuss politics, do it in the off-topic section. I'm really tired of hearing about the election, and I can't wait until it's over. Unless you're talking about automatic transmissions... ???

FYI, the recently elected govornator of California is a republican.

Thats great but if you know anything about politics you know that california's electoral votes have gone the democratic candidate the last 4 elections and it is an easy Kerry win this year.

ANYWAYS how many people have a 99 with an auto tranny that has already needed replacement and what miles.....mine seems to be smooth but every now and then it gets a lil jerky....

My dad drove my car into the ground everyday going to work and therefore ruined the tranny after 110K miles. It is the second vehicle he has ruined the tranny for so it was probably just his driving and not the car.
