Changed to a lower thermostat and did some other things
Well im bored so ill post this.
I changed to a 168 degree F thermostat,I just bought a stock one.
I did the Jimes lower thermostat mod . Jime uses door lock tumbler pins .
Using different sizes, it lowers the temp.
Went to a lock shop and they gave me assorted sizes for free. I believe I'am using .080 pin that brings me around 167-168 and Jime i believe uses a .0625 one (1/16) ,not sure of his temp.
One thing i can tell is are radiator is pretty good at cooling on the highway it keeps it at 167-168. But when i slow down or drive through city traffic it climbs fast . I need to do the fan switch mod yet and then it will stay in the 168 F area. And our dash mounted temp gauge ,must be better than people say.
Because at 168 F ,the needle is in a lower position .So within 15 F it moves.
Also with the thermostat i replaced the Electric coolant temp sensor and air intake temp sensor. The coolant temp sensor must have been bad because the readings now are different.

yea me to!
Is it safe to run the car at the colder temp? Cant be too bad on the efficiency since its a very minor change. I too have the fan switch mod, and I use it sometimes daily, but i wonder if its okay.
OT how is your oil catch can?

With the 168 F setting the car feels more where it should be ,and the lower setting keeps it on average around 185-190 instead of 200 F when im beating it.
The stock setting is made for stock HP .
