Actually 99 have thos butterflies in the lower intake manifold stock. Some or all not sure
I guess I had heard something about this (since some things about the 99.5's are like the 2000+) is why I asked.

mzmtg....take it easy on me now. C'mon. I have never taken the top off to know. Never been down in the guts of her.

krismax....since they are OEM (butterfly screws, that is), should I be worried about the same thing happening?

That noise is definately a valve banging against a piston I'm willing to bet. I'm sure the screw is long gone. That head and piston are toast, possibly the cylinder wall too.
