Air filter question

I'm looking into buying a used K&N air filter. He says it has been cleaned and reoiled. Is there a danger in buying a used one?

Are the K&N filters better than the stillen? or the same?

Should I just buy a new one, or is that a waste of money?

Does it improve gas mileage?

Yea i agree with mzmtg, there is no sense in buying a used one. They sell for like 30 to 40 dollers.

for $30-$40, does that include whatever I need to attach it to the intake? I'm talking about the open CONE shaped filter..not the drop in filter.

if you want a full out intake (filter, tube and MAP adaptor) then just go on ebay and you'll find one for $40 easily

theres no point in using a used filter unless its free, and i personally don't like the K&N oiled filters, they leave oil residue all over the intake tube and throttle body, that can't be too good for the engine overall.

I got a generic cold-air intake from ebay for $28 about 6mouths ago, and i have no complaints yet
