should i worry about the boot on this axle?
not sure if this is how its supposed to be or what but this is the axle from my 95 GLE and my boots ripped so i gotta get new ones, if i recall, the auto and 5 speed have same passenger side axle but driver side is a little different. This is passenger side i believe but before i decide to put it in, wanted u guys to see....

Man, that's an odd indentation...but I can't see how that would cause any problems....other than maybe being a more likely place for it to crack down the road.
I say don't worry about it.

it looks like it was pulled apart some cause the joint has some play to move in and out. Dont worry aslong as the boot isnt the only thing holdin it together, if it is the it need put back in the end and a new boot.

That joint in the axles moves in and out to allow for suspension movement. Just push it back together.

i think reason why the rubber boot is like that now is because when the axle was pulled out air got forced out. if you want it to seat right you have to take the metal clamp off and push the boot back and use zip ties on it or you can get a flat head and pry the boot up a little and with your hand or plier pull the boot so that it will fill out to it orignal position
