How long does your clutch last?

I recently had my clutch replaced on my 97 SE at just under 87,000 miles. How does this compare with y'all? Also, if you had it replaced, how much did it cost?

I think it's about the same. I did 120 k KM with my clutch and thats about 80 k miles. Given that I floor my car a lot I guess it's okay.

That's right on. I think the average life span of a 4th gen max is 100k give or take. Obviously everyone is different...

about 1000 miles, yes you read that right I have had my clutch replaced 4 times in about 5000 miles. There is obviously a major problem but the shop would not look into they just kept replacing the clutch for free since there is a warranty. The last time I went the owner told me I had a high output engine and when I called bull**** he said I have a heavy foot and he would not fix it. I took it up with the BB. I have driven many many manual cars and never have I ever burned up a clutch so fast. I used autocross and did very well so I know I can drive. I talked to a nissan tech I know and he said that you couldn't burn up a maxima clutch that fast even if you had never driven a 5 spd before.

It depends on the driver if you can drive the clutch should last the life of the car. My stock clutch has 108500 miles on it.

I've got 100,8XX on my stock clutch. It still grabs fine, but from time to time it doesn't feel just right. So I'll probably be doing a clutch job this winter, just so I can have a "new" clutch!

My clutch was fine uptil about 90k(40k miles of my hard driving) then I threw the supercharger on so I switched to the ACT and Fidanza but it definitley had life left on it.

I changed mine at ~75k because the engine was already out, but it still had plenty of meat left on it.

I replaced mine at 103,000 miles, then the next one at 104,000..... my differential bearings blew the whole tranny :/ i hope that doesnt happen again.... Now my third one is up to 12,000 and still going strong. This is with an Exedy stage 1.

Follow-up question for all the people that get over 110k+ miles on your clutch: when do you shift during normal driving?

130,000 or so on mine and still going great, but occasionally i have a tough time getting it into 1st or reverse. oh to answer your ? i usually shift about 4k but everynow and then i take it to redline , and i rarely do burnouts anymore.

113k on the factory clutch and has been slipping real bad for the past 3k miles. I bought the car with 73k miles and the previous owner babied it. I used to race at the track a lot. I have made over 30 1/4 mile passes and I drive it pretty hard on the street most of the time.
