hey maxers, i need some help. first my problem: air bag light is flashing repeatedly. tried to tie it to an accident. dealership tested and the conclueded it was the air bag control module under the console. to my disagreement said it was not caused by accident. (rear ended). tried to reset via door switch. the light changed from short burst to 3 long ons with a pause then repeats. anyway there is a module on ebay for $75 (dealership=$700+) for a '96. will this fit my '97? also the number on the auction module is different than the number the dealership gave me. do nissans use the same number on parts as part numbers? any info would be helpful. sorry for the long post. i like the new design of the site. bought a jeep and have been consumed by that project.

If you were rear-ended, that wouldn't have anything to do with your airbags. Your airbag deployment sensors are in your front bumper.

i was thinking maybe the jolt of the impact had something to do with it. it was so much money i was hopeing to let the insurance pick up the tab. oh well. no i haven't done anything to the seats.
