Folks,
I am trying to figure out where the Klanking sound comes from when I go over bumps. I also hear a faint squeek in the back. I wonder if I need to replace my shocks?( I have 160k miles on my 99 Maxima.) The klanking noise is coming from the bottom of the the car...It's breaking my heart to hear all these noise from my baby. Please advise what it could be and what kind of damage ($$$) I am looking at....

the squeak is most likely the shocks if you hear it when going over bumps and such.

to find the klank, go under your car after it's cooled down for a while and try seeing if your exhaust is banging anywhere by moving it around. i discovered where mine comes from yesterday and it's the b pipe where it makes that big bend. goodluck

 

mine was where the b pipe has a hanger...so i cut it off...probably not the best fix but it still hangs high and doenst clank
