6 x 9 fiberglass speaker conversion(Pics)

I took the task of creating my own fiberglass rear speaker deck. Now I can show off my 6 x 9. Let me know what you think.
I will post better pictures on my website later. But for now those are the only ones I have. Enjoy

Well I used Tnuts and bolts and also clips. So it doesnt shake at all, plus the weight of the speakers help it form vibrating.

is that a joke? maybe there is a very slight increase in quality from having a round speaker ... but 6x9's are by far much louder.

i put in 6x9's a few months ago myself because i was annoyed by how little bass and sound output the 6.5's made, and im very pleased with how much louder and better they sound. im no audiophile, so i dont care for the fact that there might be slightly worse sound reproduction, but i do like good quality sound and imo it doesnt sound worse then the 6.5's were.

much much louder, very happy i spent the 5 hours laboring, contorting my body to fit in the drunk and up inside the rear deck, cutting with a dremel and breaking bits.. now later on when i want it even louder i can just get an amp for the 6x9's without having to go the sub route.

How can you make a statement that 6x9's are louder, when most 6x9's arn't even close to 80 watts RMS and my 6 1/2s are rated at 120 watts RMS.

I applaud you on the custom work done, its nice, but IMO you were better off with 6 1/2's.

You want bass? buy a good subwoofer. You want better mid range, buy a better 6 1/2.

Sound QUALITY and how loud a speaker can be are 2 WAY different things.

I like it, looks very clean.

lol no L5 & L7s are known as SPL subs. not for sq at all. they are hella loud if in the right enclosure and with a strong enough amp.

i like the work you did and it looks clean with the install.
i'd rather have good 6.5s for what it's worth.

but truth be told you can get away with ****ty rear speakers if you have something decent up front and bass.

aznprid972's,
The pioneers have been great, I was on a low budget and for the price I think they Bump.
Just a reminder to everyone: This was not a sound quality thread(thats a whole different subject), it was about the fiberglass work.
It might be true that round is better for sound, but not that I noticed a difference. I have Pioneers 6 1/2 in the front and 6x9 on the rear and to me the sound is very clear, clean and thanks to my amp ITS LOUD.

Looks nice, I have infinity 6X9s and the sound MUCH better than stock did.

Much more bass, and they do sound cleaner, maybe because my stock rears were 7 years old?

I wanted the infinity component set for front + rear but I already had these 6X9s

the work looks nice...my question is why advertise the speakers...you'll have some d!ck break in your car now for some cheap pioneers... they look good though...and you have no tint

In my car i have a Kicker KX240.2 on my Front Door Speakers and i have another KX240.2 on my Rear Deck Speakers. I have a KX600.1 pushing both my subs and the subs are crying for more power. I need to get a SX12XX for those subs.

I think its a waste of time and labor IMO. I have the stock 6 1/2 MB Quart Discus 2 way coaxials and they sound awesome w/ my Focal Utopias in the front. All u gain is a little bit of mid bass. If ur running subs, the 6 by 9's w/ sound no different then the 6 1/2 stockies

All i knoe it that I'm running Focal Utopia 2-way component set in the front w/ 6.5 high mid and 1.25 in TN51 Tweeter and MBQuart 2-way Discus 6.5 coaxials in rear w/ Precision Power Power Class 50*4 @4ohms stereo; Eclipse OG 7001 deck w/ PPI PAR 234 EQ; 2 12in Solo Baric SD12's(the old circular ones) amped with a Precision Power Power Class 800*1 @4 ohm stereo mono block bass amp in a ported custom enclosure. All the So Cal Max's who met a Fuddruckers can vouch for me, my system's bangin and clean. 6.5's in the back is all u need properly amplified. And IMO solo baric's are one of the cleanest subs on the market. But in the end, the sub is only as good as its enclosure.
