5 spd trans owners need help

as we all know that the 95-97 is known for the bearing leaking problem. the question that i have is that im doing a change to a 98-01 but i havnt decided yet on which year. can the 95-96 axles fit a 98-99 if the differentials are the same? i know the 00-01 dosent match up from what one of the threads say

Get an 00-01 tranny with low miles. You can use your current axles with no problems so long as you get another non-locking tranny.

As long as the differentials are the same the axles will fit. I'd get a 2k1 or 2k trans myself since they have stronger components. If anything I'd get a taller 4th and 5th since the 5spd is a terrible highway car, 4k rpm at 100mph in 5th. WTF?

Yeah the axles will work in the 2k. You can also use the 5th or 4th gen speed sensor (previously it was thought that you had to use the 4th gen one, but I've got a 5th gen).
