Anyone with Motivational Engineering/Koni shortened struts- What Koni insert?
Motivational Engineering no longer lists Maxima shortened struts on their website. I want to try fabricating these myself since it looks like they are just cut down housings with a shorter Koni insert. The questions is- how much shorter?
Does anyone know the part # for the Koni insert that Motivational uses?
Anyone know if Motivational does something else other than cutting the housing shorter?

i have seen a write up where the normal Koni insert was used; but they drilled a larger hole at the bottom of the housing, added some washers, maybe a longer bolt, and cut the housing down a bit more. This was very similar to the shortened struts Motivational made. It essentially moved the insert farther down the in the housing, and it worked out perfect. I have lost the link and I really want to do something like this myself.
EDIT: found it http://www.johnandtracey.com/nissan/...ruts/index.htm
very good stuff. I have to do this.

after looking at the write up again I wonder is there is enough room between the bottom of the strut and outer CV joint to even do this on a max. I know I cant do this with my ghetto dryer clamp on my CV boot...... poo But the B14 struts look indentical to our A32...maybe the Koni for the B14 fits our housings and is shorter.
i checked the clearance and the koni insert could be lowered about 1" in the stock housing befor it would come close to the CV boot. If there is a shorter koni insert with the proper dampening this would be a cake mod for increased front travel.
