Have 98 GLE and was wondering what spark plugs I should use to replace my original ones with. I believe the original ones are platinum tipped 100,000 miles ones, but correct me if I am wrong.

Replace them with the same model as the originals, the NGK ones. Others have reported bad experiences when usung anything else but the OEM ones. They cost about $11 each though.

I've replaced mine twice

I replaced the stock plugs at 30K miles with the factory NGK Platinums and they worked fine. I just replaced those (my car now has 61K miles) with a set of NGK Iridium IX plugs and I love them. My car runs & idles perfectly. I got the plugs from www.ngkwholesale.com and they were less than $6 a piece.

I use Bosch Platinums (not plus 4s)

Have not had any problems with these. A lot cheaper than OEM and work fine in my opinion.
