Blacked out Headlights

on my old Lancer. u could put ur headlight housing in the oven and warm it up...the glue becomes 'unsticky' and u could pull it apart and paint the inside chrome black..or wutever color u prefer....has anyone tried it yet with the maxima headlights?

Just an observation - is anyone having any problems with their tail lights or headlights no longer being water-tight after doing any of the red-clear or AE-mods? Just curious since the how-tos allways suggest reusing the existing glue...

its not a bad idea to add some clear silicone to the lights when they are all back together. Mine condensate ever so slightly.

I never had problem with either of them. only problem i have is the bumper lights. i had those blacked out, never leaked and then when i took them apart again to do them chrome they start getting some moisture in them but some little caulk might help it.

I've done 4 sets of headlights, 3 sets of tail lights, and 3 sets of bumper lenses. The headlights and bumper lights are much more prone to leaking than the tail lights without silicone..
