cattman vs. budget y-pipe track times

ok.. so XMAX got a 14.9xx with a budget y-pipe muffler and home made intake... eCKohb got a 15.4 with the same exact setup as joosdawg who got a 15.6 but with a cattman y-pipe(joosdawg) vs a budget y-pipe(eCKo) im so lost... all automatic

can someone explain?

I'll explain:

1) all cars are different. Some people are only running 14.7 with my mods, that doesn't mean the mods didn't make them faster.

2) Xander ran at Byron whereas the other guys ran a GLD... the difference in times you will see between these two tracks is tremendous.

3) Xander has a freakishly fast 1/4 mile time, probably the fastest of anyone for his mods, don't compare his times to others with his mods unless they ran at the same track on the same day.

4) If you are trying to figure out some reason to get a budget y-pipe over a cattman you are going about it all wrong.

5) The y-pipe Joosdawg used is my old Y-pipe which propelled me to 13.4 @ 102.34mph... so trust me, it's got nothing to do with the Y-pipe, that Y pipe works just fine for both me and he. It also cut .5 seconds and added 4mph to Joosdawg's 1/4 mile time, which is an awesome improvement.

6) Can you see what I'm getting at here? It's got nothing to do with the Y-pipe and everything to do with about a million other factors. Don't compare the best run ever made with xxx mods to "normal" runs and think that the different brand name is what's causing the difference in times.

all cars are different... there could be things restricting the other cars that nobody knows about... for example, the knock sensor could be down, one of the tires could be locked, that would considerably slow down a car. thats what happened to my friends maxima

every driver is different. doesn't mean if you have the same modification then u'll get same 1/4 time.

I thought he ran that 14.9 when he was at byron one day with me? I know he was running quickly that day (as were all the people because the conditions were excellent and the track is almost always good). Anyways yeah, the rest of the explanation stands, besides the part about which track he was at. But in general that's a good explanation for discrepancies too, tracks differ, as do atmospheric conditions.
