Check Engine Light

i have a 95 gxe, and this morning my car di not want to star, it took me about 4 tries to start the engine, after it started, the car stalled and then when i restarted the engine the "check engine" light came up, could some tell me why that could have happend... the car has 92500miles, auto.

pull the code form your ecu and then look up what the code is.

why would you even say that? for one thing neither of those sensors would cause a hard start issue. the knock sensor doesn't even throw a CEL. Unless you know what you're talking about, don't put you .02 in.



As for the thread starter: Read the FAQ's at the top of the forum. these will tell you how to check your ECM for codes and also what the codes mean.

Yeah, it seems sometimes that wrong advice is given so nonchalantly on this forum. I've never had a cold start issue, but I did have a hot start issue caused by the EVAP and boost sensor.

The thread starter's car is not high mileage, so it'd be curious to know what is causing the issue. My car has 96k and the EVAP went bad in the high 50's. Nothing since except the airbag lamp.

Yes, for free. That is where I go to have my CEL checked out...

be sure to check your throttle body. mine was pretty dirty and it caused hard starts. after i cleaned it, no more problem.
