That steering wheel is not the correct one for that model year. That means the original ones airbag was most likely deployed and replaced with a used one. A pretty hard front impact to the vehicle would have caused that to happen.

If I were you, I'd find another Max to buy....

besides, '97-'99 SE have a diff. steering wheel than that shown in the link

 

Yeah that color looks different than the crimson red, different wheels, like you said a different steering wheel, and it's from Texas. Pass that one man

 

Wow!!! Run from this sucker. Did you also notice that this has temporary tags and not a real license plate? If they didn't put the normal airbag on this puppy, that's a bad clue. Notice no one has even bid on it. I wonder what his reserve price is. Bet he wants all the money for a clean Maxima. Some unsuspecting fool will pay for it and be on here asking about why his Maxima doesn't run right. If the wreck was bad enough to need an airbag replacement, I wonder if the engine dropped. Is it the same engine? How long it hasn't been run? May explain the paper tags. I smell a rotten lemon.

Whats prolly happened is this thing was actually in a fenderbender and blew the airbag. Now if you get the carfax report and see for sure. It may have just been something small or it could have been totalled and somebody fixed it up to be sold. Look to see if it has a salvage title.,

something is wrong with this car!!!! no se-l badges. 95-96 sterring wheel. and the evap purge control valve is from a 95-97. i think there os more than hes letting on about the car.
