POLK 6.5s IN REAR DECK????
Has anyone tried to put polk 6.5s (EX602a) in the rear deck? I tried this today and after taking out the back seat and all the other stuff, the speakers did not line up. If they don't fit, who has suggestions for some good speakers that will fit. Also, since they don't fit in the back does that mean they won't fit in the doors as well.
MAXTOUT:
I ran into the same problem installing my Eclipse 6.5 components in the rear as well. I used some butol rubber (black puddy stuff, comes on a roll) and went around the edge of the speaker and stuck the speaker down with that. Its been solid for a few months now. You can buy the butol rubber at any local Automotive Glass shop, cost about $2 a roll. Make sure to get the thicker size roll so it will fit the speaker rim with some overlap.
As for ther front doors i used zip ties and more butol rubber to hold the speaker in. I had to drill 4 holes going around the speaker pod to accomodate the zip-ties. I also used a ring of butol-rubber to help hold them in place and prevent rattling. It came out great and no problems whatsoever. Any othe questions e-mail me.

my alpine 6.5s were a smaller diameter we smaller than stock. here is what i did (front speakers) >> screwed one of the holes in with the stock screws, so now one hole is lined up and the other 3 holes arevisible outsipe the parameter of the alpine spekers. i just put the other screws back in and washers to go outside the Alpine speakers to sort of anchor it in. one hole was left alone because after i put 2 of the screws with washers in, the last hole was not visible. it seems kinda confusing but if you have any questions, email me.
