CF or alum. dash kit

ok i need some opinions for the .org members, i have a 99 Crimson Blaze max. and for those of u who dont know, thats RED! i cant decide on what dash kit to get. i was thinking either the aluminum or the carbon fiber, my interior is black leather, and im getting new rims that are gunmetal with polished lip, so i cant decide what would look good in there. thanks

I've got a cf kit/tan leather and I think that it looks great. But since that you have the black leather interior I would go with the aluminum trim because it just looks so much more sporty.

hmmm... I just painted mine with a couple coats of clear... it's pretty shiny too. I just can't figure out how to get the side vents out to paint them. Do you suppose you just pry 'em?

i got dark interior leather, and i went with CF. and i love it. since you have black, i would go with CF for a more sporty look. but since you are deciding in getting gunmetal rims with CF parts, go with the CF, you wont regret it.
i have cf hood, cf interior, gunmetal rims with polish lip and it looks very good.

It's a dash kit. Also, it's not real brush aluminum. I got it from Alka Plus.

if you're going to go with gunmetal rims... i would go with CF... i think that would look real nice on a black interior. i went with chrome kit on my max... just installed today... looks awesome!

ahhhh, see i like the idea of sporty with the alum, but with the new rims, it wont match as well. the CF is what i want to kinda go for, but i know the alum looks good. can anyone please post pics of black interior w/ cf kit so i can compare with above? thanks

...pics don't do it enough justice. CF is nice is you're trying to keep it subtle. Aluminum is nice if you want it to really stand out. Both look awesome on a black dash.

How's the shifting on that?

It has plenty of room, so I'm assuming it's for the 5-spd. This was the optional SE wood trim that came from factory so i'm pretty sure it's for the car.
