Check engine code 0103

0103 is engine cooland temp sensor. I was told my car needs new coolant last time I got an oil change. Could this have something to do with it? I got the same code while my car has knock and rear O2 sensor codes in June, but the code has not come back until now. Before, I was told that the other two codes probably made 0103 go off.
I don't have anything to test its resistance with either.

1. Figure out why the coolant is low and fix that problem (if a leak is found - the coolant had to go somewhere).
2. The ECTS is only 25 bucks and easy to replace... if its still the original on your 95 it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to replace it.... you could also just make sure you have the right amount of coolant in the system, reset the ECU and see if the code reappears. - and then at that point, replace the ECTS if necessary.

There is enough coolant, it isn't low. The coolant needs to be replaced because of it breaking down or something like that. When I got my oil changed at Nissan, they said I need to replace it before winter. They had some tester for it and there weren't enough ***** in the tester floating or something along those lines.

got ya. Then it makes sense to replace the sensor - the sensor is not there to detect the quality of the coolant or to indicate whether or not the coolant needs to be replaced. The sensor's function is to tell the ECU the temperature of the coolant. The fact that the ECU reported code 0103 means that the sensor is not working as expected.
