Starting problem...

I have been away from home for three weeks and I came back to find the Maxima not starting. Anyway the last couple of times it has not started turned out just to be the negative terminal was not connected to the wire, anyway under these circumstances when I tried to start the car the gauge cluster would light up, warning lights would come on, cd would work etc.....

This time however when I try to start the car nothing at all happens. Nothing at all. I jumped the car and it started. Drove it for about 20 mins. Came home turned off the car and then tried starting it again, and it did start. Then I left the car alone for about 30mins then tried it again and it didn't start, same thing happened where nothing at all came on.

I want to just say my battery is dead and not holding a charge, but I think I may be wrong this time. Any help would be great.
