planning on doing led window switches.. question

wouldn't it be easier if instead of desoldering the exsisting green led out, i cut them off with a wire cutter and solder the new led's onto the exsisting metal wires? would i also still need to add on the resistors as well?

im just asking since i dont have that much experience with soldering and i dont have extra money to fix something if i mess it up.

Cosidering they are already LED's, you won't need to use resistors.

And soldering to existing wires doesn't make a solid connection, just desolder and pull one side out at a time, it will prob even be easier than trying to solder to wires

thanks maxtank. so when replacing LED's to a different color, we dont need resistors and when adding any extra LED's , we would need resistors correct?

you wont need resistors if your adding more leds....you dont need them at all if your just replacing green...only need them if your planning on powering some off of say a 12v power supply from somewhere else in the car.

yes you can just cut the wires and solder it tothe wires instead of unsoldering it from the board. i found this much easier in the 3 that i have done.
