JWT Pop Charger too loud for me but not for......
I personally like having a quiet car car, so the stock intake with a K&N panel filter is good enough for me . I cleaned and oiled my K&N and over oiled it, so had to do it all over again. So I had the JWT in there for a couple of weeks (just did not get around to putting it in the stock setup until this weekend). Today my wife drove the car, and she was not too happy when she came home. She likes the way the car sounds with the pop charger, and asked me why I took it off, go figure. I told her because of the noise, and becasue I like listening to my stereo and not the intake. I told her I could put one in her car, and she said OK, I knew I married the right one .

Or you could do something different and kindof have the best of both: On my '93 Altima I pulled my POP Charger because I was also tired of the monotonous growl and the filter got so freakin hot it wasn't funny. Also, the intake bracket still allowed some filter movement since it was so large/heavy on the end and I believe was giving my MAF fits at times....
So I pulled the stock fender resonator box, dremeled out the front to act as a large cool air scoop but w/o the danger of hydrolock. I blocked off the engine bay inlet that feeds the airbox to keep all air cool and w/a OEM and K&N panel filter, the top end felt just as strong yet I kept my low end throttle response. Next, I picked up another airbox, cut out the metal mesh and installed a MAF adaptor and K&N cone filter that fit inside the airbox. I enlarged the piping from the airbox to the fender resonator to 2" (didn't have to cut) felt an even larger gain w/o losing throttle response. Granted, I may not have picked up the 12whp that a PlaceRacing nets on an Altima but I gained much more than the POP (~4-6whp)....Anyway, just an idea...

You have to give the car gas in order for it to move. People say you do not hear it just driving around town, well the thing is you do, that is why it annoys me after a while. My wife is actually a very good driver, and no where near aggresive. She has no accidents, ever, and her last ticket was around 1991. As far as the music not being loud enough, you should not have to crank it up to appreciate good sound (I have used a lot of Dynamat to quiet things down and spent good money on my gear, and the pop charger just defeats that purpose; I only used it while I had my panel filter off to be cleaned). I have a little over a kilowatt of power, but do not feel the need to pound it full tilt all the time .

It did make me smile. I am going to tell her in the morning that she needs to calm down . Just wanted to say that she's pretty careful.
Actually the intake was installed correctly. I've had it for a long time and have switched it several times (the first time I put it on I had it on the car for a full year). I am actually thinking of putting up on Ebay. I may be too picky when it comes to the noise. I have gone to great lengths to quiet all of the squeaks the car has gradually come up with (usually I am the only one that picks up on the extra noises, most of the time I had to point them out to my family members). So even though the intake noise at regular driving is not loud, it still bothers me (even more so when I have give it a good amount of gas). Besides there are some streets here where moderate driving wont get you out of the intersection, and at that point everyone turns around (it's pretty funny to see them wonder how the heck that sound is coming from my grocery hualer ). It may also be that I am just getting older. I have noticed that I also listen to my music at lower levels than I used to. Time to get to bed, looks like I'm rambling on(happens when I'm tired).
