Help (exhaust)

Ok here is the story. Bought the Warpspeed y&b pipes and a magnaflow exhaust.Installed it today and not too happy. The fitment was horrible. The exhaust sounds half decent. My car now has the Service Engine Soon light on and i dunno why probably the o2 sensors. The muffler is not centered at all the exhaust vibrates and makes the whole car sound like crap. And i didnt feel any gain after the why pipe. Also the car is running very rich and backfires. Did anyone else have this problems?

Im calling Dallas @ wsp tommorow to get it solved.

I just got one recently too and I wasn't impressed. They say improved flex section reduces the "bees in the can" sound, I would hate to hear the early ones. I wrapped the flex section but I still hear it. I already had a dual exhaust with the factory Y pipe and it sounded pretty good, after the WSP Y pipe it's really loud especially inside the car. I do feel a difference in power though. I don't know whether to put the factory Y back on or get a quieter muffler installed. As for your questions, the fitment on my Y pipe was excellent. Did you reconnect both of the O2 sensors? Did one get cracked or had the wires damaged? Check the code to see which sensor. You're not going to feel a difference until it's running right and it's not if the CEL is on.

I just went to autozone to check for the SES light and its trowing 5 codes. 3 of them for the oxygen sensore #1 & 2 and the rest for the knock sensor. I'm gonna reset the ECU later on tonite see if it goes away.

um...your oxygen sensor codes won't go away... replace them & see if the KS code goes away...
for some reason when I did my y-pipe, my oxygen sensors went bad also... (i think i might have broken them....somehow)

well its not the initial o2 sensor its the heating part of it. the person at autozone said its worth a shot since they didnt come up before the instalation of the exhaust.

I put on a 2.5" b-pipe with resonator and magnaflow muffler with my wspd y-pipe and was also not really happy...about two weeks later I sold it after stumbling onto a newer ride for a song. On the previous max I had done the y-pipe and high flow cat alone with OEM b-pipe and muffler and felt noticeable gains without "bees in the can" sound or any extra noise. Some slight low of "off idle" power, but the hit about 3500 was worth it.

i just finished installing the warpspeed "quiet" catback and i also was NOT impressed AT ALL. First of all, the tip(the extra $20 3 3/4" one) looks like crap on the "clone" dynomax muffler, and the only reason i got that one was cuz i like it quiet. I dunno if this catback is supposed to be only for the 95/96 model, but i specified mine is a 97, and its even written on the box for a 97, but WOW, the fitment is a WHOLE another issue. The muffler shop had to actually weld me a brand new extra pipe cuz one just did not fit in the bends, this is the first pipe of the two sections to the B-pipe that goes perpendicular under the car, so i had to spend an extra $30 for that, and he also said the seals/gaskets provided were terrible and the pipes didnt fit flush into each other so he instead welded all the piping together. Secondly, the hangers on the muffler didnt fit correctly, so he had to cut and re-weld those as well, and the muffler sticks out almost an inch and isnt centered. Im extremely upset at warspeed and matter of fact im about to get on the phone with them right now. DO NOT BUY THIS CATBACK!!

BTW, the sound isnt that bad, but it actually isnt as loud as i expected it, its almost TOO quiet. My stock muffler was rusted out of its mind so it was sounding real bad. This muffler/b-pipe is a nice combo for the sound if u like REAL quiet but if u want something loud, dont get this combo. Its got a nice growl and gives a little more throatiness to it, but i wasnt completely impressed. I have a budget Y-pipe as well a PR CAI, and im glad i still mostly hear my CAI at higher RPMs.

Yeah just venting here, but my WSP y-pipe had some issues fitting on, I had to shave a little bit off of one of the flange holes, but after I got it on, it works good.. But I do have Bee's in the can

Fitment of the pipes....as in, too long or too short?

The muffler not being centered is the shops fault, not warpspeed......same for the vibrating. There should be some rubber hangers that the shop SHOULD have installed to reduce that.

You wont FEEL a gain, your azz and feet are not dynos. You will THINK you feel a gain just cuz it's a mental thing. Go dyno.....and then tell us if you have a power gain

Well i don't seem to have any issuses with mine. Fitment was great. I still have on a OEM Cat and b-pipe and 97 muffler. I also have a PR CAI and i i hear it clearly even though most of the noise is blocked by the fender. But recently i hit a pot hole on the FDR and put a nice hole in my b-pipe ( it was rusted anyway) So i was looking forward to buying the Wrsp b-pipe. Now i'm hoping that won't be a problem.

lol about the *** and feet are not dynos. That was good.
Well one of the pipes is about a inch to long and it hits on the chasis of the car at idle or when ever i switch gears. and that trows off the centering of the muffler and everything.

Yeah that FDR is crap!!! I just broke my Y-pipe and dented my resonator on my B-pipe... I hate NYC roads.....

Im really looking into the whole 2 1/2" System from warpspeed... From the Y-pipe to the Magnaflow... There has to be some one with good reviews???

the y pipe is great. i didnt feel any gains because my ecu was not reset and it was throwing errors. I wil let you know today if it pulls or not. To be honest i heard it on different maximas and it sounded great. i dunno if its just mine but Warpspeed said they will take care of the problem. just shoot him some pics up and he will send me the new parts.
