CV Driveshaft?
CV Driveshaft?
Hi,
I guess I'm new to the forums but I'm trying to research a question for my mom's Maxima. Sorry if I don't have any help to offern anyone else in the future.
My mom on her Maxima recently got new tires. The guy told her that some sort of driveshaft thing is about to go out. I'm assuming it was when they were looking at the front wheels since it's a FWD car. The invoice is saying something to watch out for the 'CV driveshaft' about to go out. I know this is a vague description, but can anyone help me out? I believe the exact year is a 98. I'm sure I can get more info if needed but wanted to check for her already.
Does anyone know what this is? How does it need to be fixed? Something easy to get to and fix, or worth spending money at a shop? I'm not used to working on new FWD cars as I work mainly on my old car ('71 Chevelle SS) but have seen enough of FWD parts to be able to guess if I'm about to get myself into a pickle or not.
Thanks for any help, I really appreciate it!
:EDIT: Looking around a bit more I see something about a CV boot, and my mom said on some diagram she thought it looked like a bushing. Am I on the right track? Thanks.
