Driveshaft popped off

Last night I was driving to a restaurant when all off a sudden I lose power. At first I thought it popped out of gear ( was on third) by the time I take it out of gear I hit a traffic light . Went to first, and nothing.. the car crawls but at least it was moving but barely, I managed to move from the left lane to the right at less than 5 clicks/hr and get into a parking lot Parking lot turns out to be a goodyear garage. Tried to move at the other gears, even reverse, car still crawls. You can push it faster. Engine was fine, revs ok, didnt feel anything wrong with the clutch, but the symptoms point to it or somewhere there. had the garage check it out this am. The driveshaft popped out of the tranny!!! When looking further we saw the mount for the inner axle broken off which caused the driveshaft to disconnect from the tranny.... had to order a new inner axle, seal, and need tranny fluid...

Probable cause:
Lowered suspension

NO its not from lowering springs...the cause was most likely the inner spline on the diff got warn down....make sure your new axle popps in and securely stays in the trans...if not you may need a new trans

uless what happened was the axle BROKE...then were talking about two differnt things here

FWD cars don't have driveshafts.

the splie shaft came off from the tranny, when the mount for the axle broke. I say it may be after I lowered it cause it looks low enough to scrape on those nasty bumps... maybe... that or the axle mount is crap.

what are you talkin about-axle mount? are you talkin bout the passenger side support bearing about half way down the shaft?
when i had me half-shaft rebult, the tech warned me to make sure the retaining clip was good and that it set, otherwise the half-shaft would fall out.
