Found a 95 car. Is it a good deal?

I'm looking for a 4th gen car and I think I found a good deal.
Base 95 car + auto + moonroof, one owner, says no accidents, 87K miles, black, cloth seats, bose cd/tape. Asking $5K firm. Is it a good deal or should I look for more?

Sounds like a good deal, hard to find a 95 with such low milage.

Do they have a list of repairs or services done?

Nothing has been done to it expept oil changes, at least he could show a bunch of oil reciepts. The car has new tires all around - I wonder if the struts are screwed up? How does one checks for the struts? How much are they to replace ~$300-400 for all?

struts can run from ~$115 - ~400 depending on the brand you choose.

If he has only done oil changes, they you will need to perform quite a few tune up like:

Fuel Filter
Belts
Hoses
Sparks
Brakes
Fluids changes/flushed

If you could get him down another $300 that would help eat the cost of the tune ups, shocks should be fine at 87K but ofcourse you never know, test drive it and try to get the best feel you can from it, hard turns, bumps just to test them out.

I got the gf a 95 SE last year and it had 83k on it for $5900, so I'd say that if it's in good shape and it's actual 87k yes, thats a good deal......

how does one check if the mileage has been rolled back? I got 99 maxima and my mileage is like 88k, so for 95, the mileage seems too good...

Run the carfax report no matter what. I found a 96 Altima that was MINT, but when I ran the carfax it came back as a salvage title.

I've ran carfax on it and it is unremarkable - just shows a registration and periodic inspections.

Its a good deal. But I would have at least $300-600 in reserve for potential problems with the car stemming from reasonable wear and tear.

I wouldn't suggest it if your into performance driving at all. You'll regret the auto in about a month. Find that car in 5Spd and your set. Its the base model? That means it had the options to have the auto and sunroof extra. I would attempt to find a 95 5Spd GXE with no sunroof. It'll be abit cheaper and none of the 95's have ABS(I consider that a positive aspect).
