Is my Knock Sensor Bad...LOTS of Ping
I have been getting a lot of engine ping and i use 93 octane gas all of the time...i checked the ECU and got code 0302 which is the EGR valve but I decided to check the knock sensor anyway...i used an ohmmeter and put it on the 2000K setting and when i tested i was gettin a reading that fluctuated back and forth between 1400 and 1700...is my knock sensor bad?

This is right out of the service manual.
Symptom:
Pinging or engine knocking during acceleration or uphill.
Of 7 different items listed, #6 is EGR valve not functioning.
Your getting the code for faulty EGR and you have the symptoms. I'd suggest you fix your EGR issue first and your ping will most likely go away.
Your knock sensor does not prevent ping. When ping is detected by the knock sensor under normal operating conditions, the ECU will pull the ignition timing back in an attempt to stop it. Excessive ping caused by a problem cannot be corrected by the ECU. You need to address the problem.
