Hit and Run Pics will be up soon :(
My baby was hit today by some as*hole driver. Now the damage is very little but still it pisses me off because it's the ONLY visible ding on the whole car, yeah I have other small dings and what not but you can barely see them unless you look at them from a certain angle. Now I went to Tom's shop, they do good work, he quoted me 1000 but that's to repaint the whole entire side minus the bumper. That's the quarter panel, the rear door, and the front door and to remove all the dings, dents, etc, the only major dent is the one that happened today. To repaint the whole entire car except the 1 fender he quoted me $2800 which seems about right. Now here's my dilemma the car is in great condition however the mileage is kinda high (120K). But the car is no where near stock I spent like 10-13 grand on it, most of it aeshthetics, bolt ons, suspension you know the usual. I plan on keeping the car until it falls apart which I don't think it'll do for a while then get a G35 Coupe and start the modding process all over again, so I need your opinion peoples tell me what to do. Should I just get that side reshot or get the whole car redone? Or leave it as is?

As you already know, most cars (keyword here is most) are NOT investments. You have already put a lot of money into your car that you will most likely never get back on resale... which doesn't mean squat - since the point of a mod is for you to enjoy driving with the mod (either performance, asthetics, etc.) not to increase the value of your car (if it does - its a bonus). I would definitely advise against spending the money for a FULL paint job - especially if the car is in otherwise good shape (age/mileage considered). Emotion might bias you towards getting the ding fixed and car repainted, but if you look at the big picture, does it really make sense to spend 2800 dollars to fix a ding?
Anyway - post some pics so we know what sort of damage we are talking about, i.e. is what I consider a "ding" and what you are calling a "ding" the same thing (rhyming not intentional
Cheers.

When I say 2800 it's a full complete prepped paint job, everything will be repainted to show car quality shape. When I say 1000 it's getting a whole side redone since the other side was repainted recently. So technically I can have the car in near show condition by just getting that one side done. To just repair and repair the door that the ding is on would only cost like $400.
