on your throttle body. If you are looking at it from the drivers side, it will be the black circular part on the right hand side with two plugs on top.

Yes, look at the mechanism that your throttle cables are connected to, there is a rod that goes from that straight through your TB and into the TPS. Now if you are considering changint this, be forewarned, it is more somplicated than just swapping it out.

Some maxima's use a TPS and a WOT sensor. Some just use a TPS sensor. I would try and get the right one, but I bet you can use the one with two and just hook up the one you need. It should work fine.

You have to calibrate the new TPS useing a digital multi-meter.

You can get a good multimeter for about $20-$25. They come in handy for many different car projects.

I would suggest picking up a haynes manual as well, they are like $10 at any auto parts store. There will be easy instructions on how to set the TPS sensor.

I got my first one from Harbor frieght for like $7...it was kind cheapo but what do you expect for $7. Got a better one at a local "home deopot" type store for $24 IIRC. A Home depot or Lowes should have them. Or you could easily find them online with a simple google search.

Make sure you get one with a wide rang of setting. My mistake was not getting one that read high enough ohm's to check my knock sensor
