brakes squeaking

Ok my brakes were squeaking maybe 2-3 months ago. This was because I had semi-metallic brake pads on it i guess. I went to the dealership and got my brake pads replaced to Nissan OEM pads (for a rip off price over $110). Now they're starting to squeak again when I brake lightly. I know it can't be the new pads. Back when I was at the dealership they said something like i should do something with the rotors or else they would keep squeaking? i forgot what he said... of course i didn't want to say OK and have him charge me $200.

Is changing wheels, brakes pads, rotating, etc... something that a newbie could do? cause the only thing I know how to do so far is change my oil and change the spark plugs. But i'm still learning
Put it this way... is it something your mom can do?

My 16 year old son and I replaced front pads last weekend. It was our first time. Followed instructions found here and had no major problems.

I don't think it's something my wife or mom would do, not because they couldn't, but because they would be too intimidated to try. It SOUNDS like a big scary thing, but it was really easy.

Have your rotors resurfaced and the squealing should stop.
