any way to quiet down the engine?

I have a '99 SE with about 109k miles on it. It's a 5 speed and I know my clutch (throw-out bearing from original clutch) makes some of the noise under the hood but I remember the engine being more quiet when the car was newer. Is there anything that can be done to make the engine quieter? My sister has a 97 camary v6 with 105k miles and you can hardly tell the engine is even running. I'm jealous and want mine to be that quiet.

note: the engine is stock; no intake, exhaust, UPD or any modifications to the engine. I also use synthetic oil since about 10k miles and my tranny has redline mt-90 in it. I'm getting about 24 miles/gallon mixed highway/city driving. All regular maintance has been done to try and keep this engine running for at least another 100k miles.

Any ideas without doing a engine overhaul?

TIA for all comments.

Run some seafoam through it. Get new belts. Service the AC and power steering systems.

Get a DynaMat hood liner.

Do you have to change out the oil once you add SeaFoam product to the crank case?

Christ on a pogo stick, use google.

Read the Lubricants forum.

This is NOT going to turn into another Seafoam thread.

Don't worry tke148 - there are no stuipd questions, only stupid answers.

You can find Seafoam at any NAPA autoparts store. The product website is here: http://www.seafoamsales.com/motorTuneUp.htm.

Thanks Fork.
I see that it's a 100% Petroleum product.
I'll look into the Lubricant forum but I ask if it's safe for a full synthetic oil engine?

Is it just me or that this forum is filled with bunch of inpatient people like you? How would you feel if you asked a simple question and got that same reply back from someone else? We all know there's the "search" function, but that function doesn't always work all the time. We were all noobs once, so please be more respectful to those who may not know as much as you.
