Max having problems, help!

My maxima has started giving me problems and the check engine light started flashing. My max is kinda of idling weird right now and feels like its losing major power when I accelerate. If its idling the needle will bounce up and down from about 500 rpm to 1000 and my car feels like its choking or shaking. When I accelerate it will start shaking also and then finally snap out of it and accelerate fine but when its struggling to accelerate the check engine light flashes and then goes off. The check engine light doesnt always stay on either and sometimes it will stay one for a while and then go off. I havent got the codes from the ecu yet cause I thought I would post on here and see if anyone might know what it might be or had something similar happen. I thought it might be the fuel injectors cause I havent had then cleaned yet and I'm at 91,000 miles. Another thing to add is if its idling and I put it in neutral is doesnt shake as bad or at all either and the needle will stop bouncing.

Check the codes and post back. A flashing CEL needs immediate attention.

So I check with a nissan mechanic and he said that its a problem with the ignition coils. Does this sound right?

Check that coil, plug and make sure you can hear the fuel injector clicking. Most likely its a coil. Pull the coil and check its resistance - you can also try to swap two coils, reset the CEL, and see if the CEL code (assuming it reposts an error) moves with the coil or not (i.e. does the CEL now say ignition failure for the new cylinder or does it still point to the same cylinder).
