Yellow Fog Lights...which ones are the best and where can I get them?

Hey guys,

I looked around a bit, but could not find a thread like this without reading alot of pages. I am looking for some new fog lights that are similiar to the ones on the Lexus autos. I am tired of the white light and just want something a little different. Some people recommended the Piaa Ion Crystals, but other than that I really don't know. Any recommendations would be appreciated, along with pics.

Thanks,

Weaver

Narva Yellow Fog Lights...I heard they were real good. I'm actually looking for a pair of Lexus IS300 style fogs myself.

Narva Rally Gold. These are really eye catchers. They run alittle bright (85w) and hot but if you take the right steps to prevent burnout you'll be happy you got them.

BTW I've had my rally gold for about a year with no problems.

Narva doesn't make Foglight Housings with the Yellow light? Only the Bulb itself? I was planning on matching my HIDs with Super White Fogs and add small 3-4" Round Gold Foglights in myself...

lexus do not use yellow bulbs. they use clear bulbs witha yellow projector, like the newer qx4's do. they make covers that go over teh bulb, but idunno if theyare made for h3's or not.

What are the steps to prevent this? What would make the bulbs burn out?

I love the way they look. When you say below about burnout, what do you mean and what do I have to do to prevent this? I don't use my fogs alot, but when I do, I just want something different.

Thanks,

Weaver

Our fog light wiring is pretty weak and something of this wattage can burn out the wiring. What I did to prevent this was use silicone compund to prevent overheating, use bigger guage wire to replace the stock wire (16g), and use the fog only when it is not raining(cuz the fog light housing can break with extreme heat and wet weather on the other side).

BTW I have some cool night pics and day pics on pg 3 of my webpage.

Mine are by Eclipse. $19.99 from Kragen. They're not foglights tho. Clear 100watt bulbs and clear lens and clear coating that turns yellow when lights are on. Pretty funky.

this is probably a noob question, but what are the benefits of having yellow foglights, as opposed to white ones?

yellow foglights are what color they are suppose to be. yellow travels better thorugh fog, and lights up alot more in bad wether condition. as alot fo you know hyper white suck in the rain. yellow just shows better, and pair with hid or hyperwhites look completly bad ***.

Yellow bulbs never really look really yellow...just a lot more halogen or maybe kind of gold. If you want yellow, there are headlight films colored yellow that you can buy that stick to the outside like tint, or you can try yellow stained-glass window spray from a hobby store.

ThurzNites lights are hot. They seem like they hit the ground Blue/White, but the further out they go, the more yellow they are. Sh*t looks crazy. Very nice. Might have to look into them myself. Where did you get them at and do you have any pics daytime pics?

What about them?

Max Mutes: I got these http://www.partsamerica.com/PartDeta...rtNumber=XT853, they're on sale this week at Kragen for $19.99. I just swapped in some true 100watt Mtec 4300k bulbs from ebay (less than $10).

Yes, there's a gradient effect... white/blue directly down, and yellow as you get farther away. About the beam pattern: these are driving lights, so there's no horizontal cutoff... I had to point mine down a lil cuz my friend driving in front says I was blinding him when I had them 5deg down, as in the pics. Now they're more like 15. This's great for putting light on the floor like fog lights, but I wanted something more like rally/off road trucks with flood lights. Fair compromise for now.

Install was a breeze. Took 10min to mount them in the factory fog mounts. Just get a few oversized washers cuz the factory mounts are slightly larger in diameter. I wired them with a relay to my parking lights, so when parking lights are on, aux lights go on. I have yet to pop my firewall cherry.

I put the retangular version (#XT858 if you want to look it up on Kragen) on my mom's Previa. Hers are actually brighter than mine, with stock 55watt bulb, and have a better cutoff. However, asthetically, I don't like how it looks on 4th gen maxima. Works well on her Previa cuz of the squared off corners.

More pics later.

Jae
