I tested my TPS at closed throttle and it was 560-580 ohms, Now should I adjust it down or is mine within reasonable spec?

 

The FSM says ~500ohms. What is it at WOT?

 

i was playing wit mine today too and i stripped one of the bolts, obviously the one furthest away and hardest to get to. any recommendations on getting that POS out?

 

take a pair of vice grips to the bolt.

 

I would try back probing the sensor and seeing what voltage you get.

 

What ur saying is, that your tps is between 12 and 16% off. Just my opionion, but I feel the nissan engineers don't work with the idea that all their systems should have a 12-16% tolerance. <3-5% tolerance? sounds good to me. I went from 596 ohms at idle, to 517 ohms at idle. It's kinda tricky to get it perfect of course.

You don't take off your TPS to adjust it.

My little screws were on tight. I used a ratchet with a screw attachment and 2.5inch extension to get it off. This ratchet is shorter than most screwdrivers, perfect for that tight spacing. I used a brand new bit, that fit perfect for the heads. The screws cracked/loosened without a hitch. I tried with my trusty/favorite screwdriver first, but realized right away, I was going to end up with some stripped heads if I didn't use a better tool.

Edit: This weekend I'm gonna try to get it dead on 495-505 ohms. I adjusted it previously at 11pm, with a flashlight.

 

How do you exactly test these and change the position of it. I read the write-up on it, but i still dont quite get it. Can someone please explain?
