Can't get a good reading from my TPS.. HELP!

I disconnected the inner most terminal on the TPS and connected the voltmeter to it, will my car was on the "on" position. I got anywhere from 3.5-6.5 multivolts. I couldnt get a reading on regular volts. Has anyone help me out, am i doing something wrong?

My car is doing that "sputtering idle" when i am at stop lights and deccelerating.

WTF are you talking about? What's a multivolt? You're supposed to have ~500V when the throttle is completely closed, make sure the car is wormed up.. Make sure your multimeter can read 10M. You're supposed to use the 2 pins to the inside of the car and make sure you're checking the TPS not the harness. After warming up the car you'll notice that if you wait maybe 5 minutes between checking the valus they will be different. That makes adjusting the TPS a pain in the ***.
